It’s War and what better way to do it than Blitz Brigade, a new title from our old friends at Gameloft who have a good track record in epics of this type.
A multiplayer game, a bit like Team Fortress, with up to 12 taking part, you can team up with other heroes to become one of five bands of fighters.
You meet your match quite literally in the Deathmatch games with your enemies and you have the choice of more than 100 weapons which have been tailored for your specific needs, so really, not much excuse if you’re the one who gets hammered into the ground.
You also have three different vehicles so choose carefully to make sure you have the right one for the job and you also get access to a helicopter so you can swoop on the opposing army. When you’ve done that, get into your tank, fast forward and mow down any unfortunates who haven’t got the message and gone home.
The characters have a life of their own and get quite mouthy at times, stamping their own personality on the game. You can use Voice Chat to create a game plan to give you the best chance of victory.
Before you launch into the action proper you might want to hone your skills in killer training missions, there are 120 to complete and while you do so you can gen-up on the special battle skills each of the five classes of warriors has. They may take you a while as they’re quite challenging.
There are some minimum specs to play Blitz Brigade, Android 2.3 and higher, a 1 GHz CPU, 512 Mb RAM, PowerVR SGX540 GPU or similar and 1.4GB of available memory. We’ve been playing it on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and it’s been great.
Blitz Brigade is up on Google Play Store now and it has a raging of medium maturity so not for younger gamers.
