The Galaxy Note 8.0 is the middle brother in the Galaxy Note range offering an 8 inch screen and near identical specs to the Galaxy Note 2 this is Samsung’s attempt to one up the 7 inch tablets by offering just a bit more of everything.
As with all Note devices the S-pen is included creating a device that feels aimed more towards the business market than the home user. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is fast with 2 gig of ram and a quad core Exynos processor games and apps fly along nicely.
Their are still some issues with Internal storage from the 16 gig quoted only 9.6 is available for your apps and files which is a bit disappointing.
With the Galaxy Note 8.0 we had a blast, it really is one of the best tablets on the market today although it may not be for everyone some users will find the S-pen the perfect way to interact with a tablet.
The 5mpx camera in the Note 8.0 provides reasonable images for a camera on a tablet but won’t set the world on fire, it’s low light performance is on the poor side.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 display and software
The 8 inch display provides a sharp and detailed image with little distortion or poor colour reproduction, one area the screen was less than stellar is the viewing angle that wasn’t the best we have seen but still better than a 2012 Nexus 7.
It’s nice to see some S-pen usable apps pre-installed by Samsung the aNote is especially nice to look at and very functional, however the miss match of styles in the included software can be a bit confusing, Samsung really need to nail down their design language.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 is one of the best tablets on the market today and the included S-pen moves this tablet above many others on the market, although the £300 price point may put some off.
